Erebus Grey/エレバス・グレイ

Erebus Grey (“Ere,” or “Error” for short) is a streamer for bondlive EN. She joined us on June 2024 and debuted on November 18, 2024, a few days after the launch of the IRIAM app on the US market. エレバス・グレイ（略して「エレ」または「エラー」）は、bondlive ENの配信者です。彼女は2024年6月に私たちに加わり、IRIAMアプリがアメリカ市場でリリースされてから数日後の2024年11月18日にデビューしました。

She has become one of the top streamers on the app, and her hard work and following have won her a spot in the IRIAMxAnimate collaboration and 3rd place in the Sake Event. Curious about how Ere could achieve so much in such a short time, we had a sit-down with her after one of her streams and picked her brain for a bit.
彼女はアプリ内でトップ配信者の一人となり、彼女の努力とフォロワーのサポートにより、IRIAM×Animateコラボレーションのスポットを獲得しました。エレがこの短期間でこれほど多くのことを達成できたのはなぜか、彼女にインタビューをしてみたいと思います！

Hi hi! My name is Erebus Grey, your lovely general in command. I hope you enjoy our streams in ‘general.’”
ハイハイ！私の名前はエレバス・グレイ、あなたの素敵な司令官です。私の「ジェネラル」な配信を楽しんでくれると嬉しいな！

「She inspired me to be a Vtuber」

ーAwesome introduction! That’s a great pun since your character is a soldier. So, tell me, what made you want to become a Vtuber? 
素晴らしい自己紹介ですね！あなたのキャラクターが兵士なので、「ジェネラル」というダジャレが最高です。早速質問ですが、Vtuberになりたいと思ったきっかけは何ですか？

I’ve been in the Vtubing world since 2016. I’ve seen the rise of giant Vtubing corporations and seen another Vtuber debut 4 years ago, and that vtuber is still going strong. She inspired me to be a Vtuber too.
私は2016年からVtuberの世界にいます。大手Vtuber企業が台頭する様子を見てきましたし、4年前に別のVtuberがデビューするのも見ました。そのVtuberは今でも活躍していて、彼女が私にVtuberになるきっかけを与えてくれました。

I used to be behind the scenes, but this Vtuber helped me come out from behind the scenes to being in front of the camera. She mentored me and introduced me to bondlive EN. 
私は以前は裏方にいましたが、このVtuberのおかげでカメラの前に立つことができました。彼女は私のメンターとなり、bondlive ENを紹介してくれました。

I auditioned and joined bond mid-June, 2024. I love being in bond. It gives me insight to Japanese culture and my gen mates helped with bouncing ideas.
私は2024年6月中旬にオーディションを受けてbondに加入しました。bondにいるのが大好きです。日本の文化に触れることができ、同期メンバーたちがアイデアを出し合うのをサポートしてくれました！

ーWow! It looks like you have experience on both sides of the camera! So, then, what made you decide on IRIAM?
すごい！裏方と表舞台の経験があるんですね！それでは、IRIAMを選んだ理由は何ですか？

I had already downloaded the IRIAM JP app before but I only follow one streamer. 
以前からIRIAM JPアプリをダウンロードしていましたが、フォローしている配信者は一人だけでした。

I follow Tanaka Vega. I asked him a few questions and he became my mentor too. He  helped me with stream ideas and reaching out to IRIAM result overlay artists.  
私は田中ベガをフォローしています。彼にいくつか質問したところ、彼も私のメンターになってくれました。彼は配信のアイデアや、IRIAMの配信結果のデザイナーさんに連絡を取る手助けをしてくれました。

ーCool! Maybe we can have a study session with Tanaka Bega one day! What do you like about IRIAM?
いいですね〜！いつか田中ベガと一緒に勉強会ができたらいいですね！IRIAMの好きなところは何ですか？

The app is more personal and doesn’t seem as distant to the audience like Twitch or YouTube. We can see the chat and talk with the audience. I had a stream where I was helping viewers with college level math. It felt more personal with open communication and helps us streamers find our fan base. I love it. 
このアプリはかなり距離が近くてTwitchやYouTubeのようには視聴者と距離を感じません。チャットが見えて、視聴者と話すことができます。大学レベルの数学を視聴者に教える配信をしたことがありますが、オープンなコミュニケーションでもかなり距離感近く感じられ、配信者としてファン層を見つけるのにとても役立ちます。大好きですね。

ーWe definitely do focus on finding and connecting people to their community. So, then, how is IRIAM working out for you?
そうですね、このアプリはリスナーさんとコミュニティを作ることに重点を置いていますね。それでは、IRIAMはあなたにとってどんなアプリでしょうか？

People have asked if I can stream on Twitch or YouTube, but I haven’t touched them. IRIAM is technology-friendly. As I call myself technology illiterate, if it’s easy for me to understand, it will help anyone who is new. IRIAM is better than trying to figure out Youtube and OBS and all the steps. 
TwitchやYouTubeで配信してほしいと言われることがありますが、私はまだやってないんです。IRIAMはすごく使いやすくて、自分が機械音痴だと自称している私にとって、わかりやすいということは、初心者にとっても優しいということなんです。YouTubeやOBS、その他の使い方を理解しようとするより、IRIAMをやっていた方が良いですよね

ーI see! That’s definitely appealing for people who are in the same boat as you. Getting back on the topic of community, what do you think of your audience? 
なるほど！同じような状況の人にとって間違いなく魅力的ですね。コミュニティの話題に戻りますが、IRIAMの視聴者についてどう思いますか？

My audience knows my humor. We have created some inside jokes. They know I have a Pocari Sweat addiction because I buy a 10L brick every other month! Another viewer is into music. We have a story time channel (in my fan Discord) and study session streams. For writing, I ask them if they need any help or advice. If something doesn’t sound natural, they have a chance to fix it or hear how it sounds or how it should be fixed. 
I’ve grown closer to my audience but they have also become more comfortable with me.
私の視聴者は私のユーモアを理解してくれています。一緒に内輪ネタを作ったりしています。私がポカリスエットにハマっていて、2か月に1回10リットルのブロックを買っていることも知っています！別の視聴者は音楽が好きで、私のファンDiscordにはストーリータイムチャンネルや勉強会配信があります。論文に関しては、彼らに何か助けやアドバイスが必要か聞いています。自然に聞こえない部分があれば、直すチャンスを与えたり、どう聞こえるか、どう直すべきかを伝えたりします。
視聴者ともっと近づけたし、彼らも私に対して快く接してくれてます。

「I like promoting other streamers too.」

ーSounds like it’s so much more than just a one way street between streamer and viewer! You’ve really gotten close to your audience! By the way, what is your favorite memory or moment while streaming?
配信者と視聴者の間で一方通行じゃない感じですね！本当に視聴者と近いんですね！ストリーミング中の好きな思い出や瞬間は何ですか？

During the very first in app event, I had a bonk-a-thon [viewers sending multiple bonk points to the streamer]. I think I was the first person to do this. We talked about Pokémon and assigned them to each debuted FS so my audience could get to know the other FS. I like promoting other streamers too.
アプリ内初のイベントで、ボンカソン（視聴者が配信者に複数のBONKというギフトを送ること）をやりました。私が最初にやったんじゃないかな。私たちはポケモンについて話して、デビューした各FS（アプリの初期配信者）にポケモンを割り当てて、私の視聴者が他の配信者を知る機会を作りました。他の配信者を応援するのも好きなんです。

Right now I’m bouncing outfit ideas with Fujita Hirari*. I’m playing hide and seek with my sister’s acrylic stands by trying to find them and sending pictures to Miette Marzipan*, telling her to find them too like a Where’s Waldo?
今は藤田ひらりと一緒に衣装のアイデアを出し合っています。妹のアクリルスタンドを使ってかくれんぼをして、見つけたら写真を撮ってミエット・マジパンに送って、彼女にも「ウォーリーを探せ」みたいに探してもらっています。

*Fujita Hirarin and Miette Marzipan are two other Founding Streamers that debuted around the same time as Ere and are also currently streaming on the IRIAM app.
*藤田ひらりとミエット・マジパンは、エレとほぼ同時期にデビューした配信者で、現在もIRIAMアプリで配信しています。

ーYes! Your bonk-a-thon was the first one I’ve ever seen! I also really loved the Where’s Waldo? I hope you can share it with your audience one day! But for now, is there anything you want to say to your fans?
そうそう！あなたのボンカソンは私は初めて見ました！「ウォーリーを探せ」も大好きでした。いつか視聴者と一緒にできたらいいですね！何かファンに伝えたいことはありますか？

Thank you, guys! I would not be here without you! I hope I can make you proud. Don’t drink Pocari Sweat, you’ll get addicted!!

You’ve definitely reached great heights with your audience. Another great achievement was being a part of the IRIAM X ANIMATE Collaboration. What’s it like seeing your goods for sale in Animate?
視聴者と一緒に素晴らしい経験をしましたね。もう一つの大きな成果は、IRIAM×ANIMATEコラボレーションに参加したことです。Animateで自分のグッズが売られているのを見るのはどんな感じですか？
When I went, I heard a lot of people talking about the acrylic stands and the pin badges. It was mind-blowing because it was a symbol that I’d made it to the big leagues.
店に行ったとき、アクリルスタンドやピンバッジについてたくさんの人が話しているのを聞いたり見ました。自分が何かを成し遂げた感覚になって、衝撃的でした。

Mama Grey [Ere’s real mother] and I took pictures with my section and left so many notes thanking everyone. She hid some notes under the Shirasu and Blind bags.
ママ・グレイ（エレの本当の母親）と私が私のコーナーで写真を撮って、みんなに感謝のメモをたくさん残しました。彼女はシラスやドバッグの下にメモを隠したりしてました。

ーThat is so cute and sweet of Mama Grey! Now that you’re in the big leagues, what is your goal for streaming?
ママ・グレイ、めっちゃ可愛くて優しいですね！トップに到達した今、ストリーミングの目標は何ですか？

”My goal is to not only be a streamer that others can be proud of, but to be a supporter for anyone who needs it.
私の目標は、他の人が誇りに思える配信者になるだけでなく、私を必要としてくれる皆のサポーターになることです。”

ーI think you’re already doing that and have achieved that already! I was so surprised to hear that you take an hour after your own stream to help other streamers’ mods and anything else that they need. You’re such a great support and inspiration! How long do you want to keep streaming?
あなたはすでにそれを実践していて、達成していると思います！自分の配信後に1時間かけて他の配信者のモデレーターや必要なことを手伝っていると聞いてびっくりしました。本当に素晴らしいサポートと信念ですね！今後どれくらい配信を続けたいですか？

Until I can’t. I want to stream until people no longer need me or want me.
自分ができなくなる時まで。もう必要とされなくなったり、求められなくなったりするまで配信したいです。

ーWe’re always going to need someone like you, Ere! Do you have a message to people who want to be a Vtuber like you?
エレみたいな人を我々は求めてます！！エレみたいなVtuberになりたい人にメッセージはありますか？

Get out of your comfort zone! You never know what’s going to happen. I didn’t think I was going to make it past the first interview. Never be too shy to reach out, and it’s good to have a support system even if you don’t know the people you are reaching out to personally. You might get to know them!
コンフォートゾーンから出てみて！何が起こるかわからないよ。最初の面接を通過できるなんて思ってなかったし。遠慮しすぎず、個人的に知らない人でもサポートの心を持つのはいいことだと思う。すごい良い友達になれるかもしれないし！

Not only can we [streamers] offer advice but we can offer help as well!
私たち（配信者）はアドバイスだけでなく、みんなに応援やサポートもできるます！

ーThat is very true! Taking the very first step can be scary, but knowing that you are here to help is such a relief! Anything you want to say to the people out there who are hearing about you for the first time?
その通りですね！最初の一歩を踏み出すのは怖いけど、エレが助けてくれると思うと本当に安心します！初めてエレを見た人に何か言いたいことはありますか？

Don’t be shy, scared, or intimidated by IRIAM. We’ve all been there. If you have questions or concerns, we can help you. Once you join us, you’ll not only be our friend, but part of our family. We will help you until we can’t.
IRIAMや配信で恥ずかしがったり、怖がったり、威圧感を感じたりしないで。私たちみんなそこを経験してきたから。質問や不安があれば全然答えます！一緒に始めれば、友達になるだけでなく家族の一員になれる。私たちができなくなる時まで助けるよ。

I reached out to an FS about boarding passes, and not only did she help me with that, she helped me with fan name ideas. So, I owe her that.
他の配信者にクーポンについて連絡したら、その彼女はそれだけでなく、ファンネームのアイデアまで手伝ってくれました。だからその彼女には感謝してます！
